Longford U18.5 player Dominic Greene was selected to start for Ireland U18 Rugby League in the second round game against England, held on Saturday morning in Belfast.

Dominic is a prominent member of our youth U18.5 team which ended the season with a Leinster plate title, a repeat of winning the same competition at U17’s the previous season.  The nod to start at the weekend is just reward for the determination, work rate and commitment by Dominic, to his sport.

His efforts throughout the season for LFRC is admirable, and his contribution to his team, both club and his St. Mels College side,  is unmatched in terms of the number of trophies he has earned over the last two seasons.

Congratulations Dominic. Keep up the good work!

Congratulations also to Jay Reynolds who was also selected for Ireland U16 Rugby League side, who also took on England on Saturday last.

Jay is a prominent member of our U16 side, and also plays for  St. Mel’s College senior team, also claiming title honour’s with Dominic in the Longford District Schools Championship in April.  Well done Jay!
