Longford Women loss out on the road   14/11/2018

11/11/18 Leinster Women’s League Division 4 Tullamore 27 Longford 0

By Nuala McGoey Women’s Head Coach

Longford came up against a very strong experienced Tullamore side yesterday.  However, for most of the first half were right in the game and were camped inside the Tullamore 22. Try as they might, they just could not get over the try line with struggling in the lineouts with a strong crosswind causing problems. Tullamore managed to run in two breakaway tries in the first half to leave the half time score 10 to 0. Longford went down a player for the start of the second half after a high tackle but they worked hard to keep Tullamore at bay. After a few missed tackles Tullamore ran in another 2 tries. Nevertheless, Longford never gave up and worked really hard to try and get back into the game. It just wasn't their day and with the last play of the match Tullamore scored. Longford have next weekend off before Tallaght come to CPL park on 25th.

The Warriors train every Tuesday and Friday night at 7.30 PM. New players of all fitness levels are welcome, even if they have not played before. Contact Nuala on 082482005.
