St. Patricks Weekend at Longford RFC   16/03/2018

It’s a busy weekend at Longford RFC this St. Patricks Weekend.

Games

The Senior Men play their last league games away to Portlaoise on Sunday.  A win will secure third place in Division 1B, no mean achievement after being promoted from Division 2A last season.  It will be a tough battle as Portlaoise who are still in with a shout of avoiding automatic relegation if they beat Longford.  The Development Xv game kicks off at 1.30 PM and the Performance XV game at 3 PM.

There are lots of Youth fixtures;

The U15s play Mullingar on Friday night, the U16s make the long trip to Wexford to play Enniscorthy, the U17s are at home to Ardee in the league semi-final, while the u13s/U18s are away to Naas.

St. Patricks Day Parade

Longford Minis/Youths are taking part in the Longford St. Patrick’s Day parade.  We request a good turnout of minis players to carry flags and partake in skill drills along the way. Parents also welcome to join us.  We will be leaving the clubhouse at 12.00pm to walk to the old army Barracks beside the cinema. Our starting place is in the Barracks.  The parade starts 1.00pm sharp. For parents not walking with the group we will let you know a meeting place to collect the children before the parade.  Please wear club jerseys/contact tops if you have them and wear base layers too.

Grand Slam Decider

Ireland are travelling to Twickenham with the aim of completing only their third Grand Slam.  Patrick/Kate Quinn, who have recently taken over the Sin Bin, invite all members and friends to watch the match there.

Happy St. Patricks day too all our members and friends at home and abroad!
