Midlands win the Shane Horgan Cup

U17 Shane Horgan Cup 

Midlands 12  South-east 10

The Midlands squad, made up of players from the Longford U17s, came away champions of Leinster after beating the South East region in Tullow RFC on Saturday last.

Aaron Beirne, Joe McGowan, Finbar McGowan, Michael Bannon, George McDermott Jnr, and Peter Mimnagh (with Owen McGowan, Cillein Farrell and Paul Hughes being selected for the development squad) were part of the squad of players from Longford, Mullingar, Birr, Edenderry and Tullamore who took to the field on Saturday.

The players from Longford RFC have been travelling Monday every night, with our YDO Steve Coy and Derek Maybury, in Tullamore RFC and in Aspire Clinic in Clara since last April.

All of their hard work and dedication has paid off along with their team mates from the other clubs.  Congratulations to Steve Coy and Derek Maybury for coming away with the title of Leinster champions.

Membership 2010/11

All players please note

Rugby membership is now due for the coming season, 2010/11. It's important for all players of all grades to renew as non-payment means that you can't play for the club, owing to insurance reasons. The membership is as follows: €120 for senior players; €60 for non-playing members (including coaches); €60 for students. Mini/Youths €30 (where there are three or more children from the same family, €75).

Membership is payable to Donal Considine, Membership Secretary, or to the appointed member of your team or committee
